“Carpe Diem” is a phrase from the poet Horace (68-5 a.C) and is an invitation to live for today, thus the future is unknown and the only thing we are sure of is the present moment.

We live the wine very intensely because we know we are privileged to be able to work this land and make wines that will bring good moments to a lot of palates.

La Celestina winery is located in the Soria side of the Ribera del Duero, it offers its wider vision of the area working with vineyards of San Estebán de Gormaz region and the Atauta valley and elaborate committed wines with the ‘Ribera del Duero style’

the vineyard

We selected vineyards with ages that go from 60 years, in the case of grapes from Soria and 20 years the grapes from Burgos, looking for a combination of concentration and power without leaving liveliness aside. With a latitude that goes from 780 to 980 meters. These are soils mainly sandy in the Soria area and clayey in the Burgos area.

the climate

The average rainfall is 430 mm/year mainly distributed between autumn and spring. We have cold and long winters and hot and short summers. The thermic oscillation allows for grapes with good phenolic ripeness.

the elaboration

The elaborations are made in stainless steel tanks with controlled fermentation and medium macerations. The portfolio of La Celestina winery is made of wines that value and respect the fruit, with storage in french oak barrels.
